Food has always been at the centre of my life.
I grew up in Poland, where meals were made from scratch and shared with love — dumplings rolled around the table with family, jars of jam preserved for winter, big pots of hunter’s stew slowly simmered while stories were told. That deep connection to food stayed with me, especially when it comes to baking. Sweet things have always been my comfort zone.
In my twenties, I moved to Wales to study criminology and languages — but quickly realised I was chasing the wrong dream. I kept finding myself in the kitchen, using cooking as my escape, and eventually made the decision to follow my heart. I started at the bottom in professional kitchens, determined to learn. A few big leaps later, I found myself running the pastry section at the Michelin-starred Ynyshir — an experience that shaped everything I do.
After relocating to Bristol, I started baking cakes for friends and family. One wedding cake changed everything. The joy it brought, the emotion, the beauty — I knew I’d found something special. Something that felt like me.
That’s how The Orchid Kitchen began.
Now based in beautiful Yorkshire, I design modern, elegant wedding cakes for couples who love detail, style, and a touch of the unexpected. Inspired by nature, art, and texture, each cake is carefully crafted to reflect your story — never cookie-cutter, always personal. I also offer full dessert and grazing table setups for couples who want more than just a cake — but a centrepiece of flavour and beauty.
Alongside my business, I teach part-time, raise a family, and take on a limited number of weddings each year to give each couple the time and attention they deserve.
If you’ve made it this far — hello, and thank you.
I’d love to hear about your plans and help bring your vision to life.
